Inaugural Youth Council Film Festival

Friday, 20 April 2018.

Swan Hill NOVO Youth Council is ready to make a change. The inaugural Make a Change Film Festival will make its debut at the Swan Hill Town Hall PACC.

Created by young people for young people, the festival aims to get young people in Swan Hill, Robinvale and surrounds to raise the profile of youth issues that matter to them.

Local youth aged between 12 – 25 were given the chance to create a short film up to five minutes in length covering social issues young people face including mental health, bullying, LGBTIQ rights, disability discrimination, drug and alcohol culture, racism, family violence and body image.

The Make a Change Film Festival open to all members of the public and will include film premieres, award presentations and a key note address from former AFL player Glenn Manton. Entry is a gold coin donation and includes snacks, tea and coffee.

The project was made possible thanks to funding from the State Government’s Victorian Youth Week Grant, NOVO and Swan Hill Rural City Council. Thank you also to headspace Swan Hill, Glenn Manton, Showbiz Cinemas and Harvey Norman for supporting this festival.

Light refreshments provided.

When: Friday, 20 April at 7.00pm
Where: Swan Hill Town Hall PACC
Cost: Gold coin donation
