The Main Event by Fairfax

Thursday, 19 September 2019.

What happens when you bring seven schools from across the Murray Mallee together to work with a band of extraordinary artists and you ask them to produce new performance work to premiere on the stage of the Swan Hill Town Hall? The answer is The Main Event, the culmination of the 2019 Fairfax Youth Festival.

The Mallee community is invited to witness the realisation of this creative vision of our 2019 Fairfax schools and their artists.
Local, young and emerging artists from Tyrrell College, Tooleybuc Central School, St Mary MacKillop College, Red Cliffs Secondary College, Manangatang P-12 College and Chaffey Secondary College will come together to premiere performance works that they have developed in collaboration with some of Australia’s most established and leading artistic professionals.

The night will also see the world premiere of the trailer for a new Australian film Shift F Feels, written and directed by 2018 Ian Potter grantee Kat Kats, shot right here in the Murray Mallee’s Tooleybuc with students from Tooleybuc Central School. We would love for you to come along and support the wonderful work of these young artists and the invaluable contribution that they are making to the rich cultural, social and creative tapestry of the Swan Hill region.
